Boomerang Bags is a global, grassroots movement which connects and empowers local communities to tackle plastic pollution at its source. Here in the library, we were interested in finding ways to contribute to a more sustainable environment while also facilitating connections within our community.
With Boomerang Bags we have been creating beautiful, unique reusable bags that can be used for many purposes, but most importantly can be an environmentally friendly bag used for library visits!
Members of our group have been learning new skills, making new friends and helping to make library bags for the community.
If you can cut, iron, pin or sew we would love for you to join us and although our libraries are closed for now, you can still make some eco-friendly library bags at home.
All of the instructions and tutorials you need to get started are here and we would love to see your handiwork and welcome you to our sewing group when our libraries re-open!
